Therese Anne Fowler has a BA in sociology/cultural anthropology and an MFA in creative writing. As an author, she’s particularly interested in exploring the stories of women who are misrepresented by popular culture and/or have been overlooked by history. Having written about Zelda Fitzgerald, she has a new novel about the Vanderbilt family, centered on the fascinating and often maligned Alva Smith Vanderbilt Belmont, released October 16, 2018.

Her 2013 bestseller Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald, has been adapted for television by Amazon Studios as Z: The Beginning of Everything starring Christina Ricci and David Hoflin. She is married to author and professor John Kessel.
