Eleos – Blog Tour & Giveaway

Publication Date: October 23, 2018
eBook & Paperback; 460 Pages

Genre: Historical Fiction

The discovery of a valise of old letters written to his Armenian grandfather from an Auschwitz survivor starts Avi Arutiyan on an odyssey to uncover the mystery surrounding his grandfather’s unsolved death. From the killing fields of Anatolia to the trial of Adolf Eichmann, Avi’s quest opens a door into intersecting paths and dark secrets of three families, stretching back to 1915.

How do these things happen time and again: the Holocaust was preceded by the Armenian Genocide, and followed by the killing fields of Cambodia, Rwanda, and Bosnia. Who were the people behind them? Eleos is a story of saviors and murderers, of bystanders and of those that don’t fall into an easy-to-classify category. Hopefully the book can serve as a reminder to protect our own humanity, because ultimately the battlefield is inside all of us.

“Bell masterfully combines his mystery story with an unflinching look at the 20th century’s bleakest tragedies. A beautiful . . . challengingly complex tale of the ramifications of history.” — Kirkus Reviews

“Eleos offers no easy answers, no pat approaches. Perhaps this is the novel’s greatest challenge to its readers, as well as its finest attribute. D. R. Bell crafts a set of circumstances that involve the protagonist in a sifting of blame, historical examination, and family attitudes, drawing in readers with a scenario that at first seems relatively black and white; then immersing them in decisions and outcomes that are satisfyingly complex. … Holocausts can happen again, but as long as stories such as Eleos capture the progression of events with an eye to explaining how logic and action led to disaster, future generations at least have a road map to avoid the pitfalls that lead in these directions.” — Diane Donovan, Donovan’s Literary Services; Editor, California Bookwatch Continue reading “Eleos – Blog Tour & Giveaway”

Paperback: 297 Pages

From the Amazon Charts and Wall Street Journal bestselling author of the Everything series comes a new novel of love, lies, and deceit.

Lifestyle journalist Ella Skye remembers every celebrity she interviewed, every politician she charmed between the sheets, and every socialite who eyed her with envy. The chance meeting with her husband, Damien; their rapid free fall into love; and their low-key, intimate wedding are all locked in her memory. But what she can’t remember is the tragic car accident that ripped her unborn child from her. Ella can’t even recall being pregnant.

Hoping to find the memories of a lost pregnancy that’s left her husband devastated and their home empty, Ella begins delving into her past when she’s assigned an exclusive story about Nathan Donovan, a retired celebrity adventurer who seems to know more about her than she does him. To unravel the mystery of her selective memory loss, Ella follows Nathan from the snowcapped Sierra Nevada to the frozen slopes of southeast Alaska. There she discovers the people she trusts most aren’t the only ones keeping secrets from her—she’s hiding them from herself. Ella quickly learns that some truths are best left forgotten. Some news on the blog!

Hello friends,

I’m so glad to see new faces around here, including many book bloggers who inspired me.

When I started this adventure, I had no idea what being a book blogger meant and how beautiful and deep the connections between book lovers could grow. I just wanted to share and talk about those books I read and loved…yes because I’m not very comfortable talking about those I dislike. So when I think about bad books, at least online, I remember the saying, “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say nothing at all.”

Despite the good reviews on the blog, I perfectly remember the books that made me regret spending time also trying to keep reading.

Anyway, today I’m here to celebrate all of you, my dear friends. Every day you keep surprising me and make me spend more time on the socials, reading recommendations, enjoying beautiful book photos…and fill my days with great #readingvibes.

Only Ever You (Interview, Excerpt & Giveaway)

Montlake Romance
Paperback: 316 pages

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Rachel knew exactly what turning thirty would be like. She had a plan, after all. First college, then a climb up the professional ladder. Love, marriage, children. All of it was on the schedule.

The cheap Hollywood apartment wasn’t on the list. Neither was the string of heartbreaks. Or the effect her mother’s cancer had on her career.

It’s hard to stay practical and on point when everything takes a left turn.

Enter Sebastian, the nerd across the street. The boy she defended when he couldn’t defend himself. The best friend she promised she’d marry if life didn’t go according to plan.

Not only is he successful, confident, and gorgeous, but he also still has their handwritten marriage contract.

No one goes through with childhood wedding pacts.

That’s crazy.

But their families might just be crazy enough to rent a hall and set a date. All Rachel and Sebastian have to do is fall in love.

Who doesn’t need to grab a good mystery & thriller book before leaving for vacation time? I was looking for different genres to pack and I’m pretty excited because this year a fantastic selection of M&T titles have come out to the world, with their engaging storylines that hook the readers from page one.
In this brief list of new titles, I only included those I have added to my bookshelf too. Since I’m almost ready to leave for a few weeks to enjoy the summer vibes with long walks on the beach and delicious ice creams, I can’t wait to switch between some romantic summer reads and the thrill of more twisted characters and stories.

Happy Reading!
