In the mood for a story that pulls you somewhere you can’t quite escape?
There’s a kind of reading mood where slow stories just don’t work; you want something that pulls you in fast, keeps you slightly on edge, and makes it hard to stop at the end of a chapter. That’s exactly when I reach for island thrillers.
Maybe it’s the setting—the feeling that once you arrive, there’s no easy way out. Or maybe it’s how quickly things can shift, how a place that looks beautiful on the surface starts to feel unsettling the longer you stay.
Whatever it is, these are the books I turn to when I want to be completely absorbed in a story—the kind that makes everything else fade into the background until you’ve turned the last page.
Happy Reading!
